Let me be transparent when I say, "I worry ALL the time." Whenever I'm doing anything that I'm passionate about, I can think of every reason why I won't experience success. If I like a guy, the worry and anxieties double. So much so, that I can easily major in minors. Like "these eyebrows needs to be perfectly symmetrical." As if the alignment of my eyebrows will magically make him my Knight in shining armor. For the past few months, worries concerning every area of my life were beginning to take it's toll on me. So I decided to entitle this month as my "War against Anxiety."
When I started this fight, I realized a few things:
1. God commands us not to worry.
In Matthew 6:35 and Philipians 4:6, he says, "Do not be anxious." Just as parent will say Don't touch the hot stove. Christ says when you feel an inclination to worry, don't do it! But he doesn't just tell us what not to do, but He instructs us on what we can do.
2. Cast, Trust, Prayer & Praise instead
When we cast our worries and anxieties upon God, we show that we trust Him and how finite we are in solving our problems (Psalm 55:22 & 1 Peter 5:7). Yet it doesn't stop there, Philippians 4:6 continues "but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your mind." The by product of praying and & praising God is peace. Therefore, if you feel yourself about to worry, Stop, cast it before God, pray and praise Him. Or in short, we can follow this equation: Cast + Trust + Prayer + Praise - Worry = Peace
Enjoy the peaceful life today my friends!!
